SEEDERS
![]() |
Seeders are David -Lads- Sanchez & Surya (Maria Sol Berardelli) Lads & Surya met in Madrid during 2003 and started working together in 2004 as soon as they realized that Lads had too many unfinished tracks in his computer, maybe this was because they just needed a voice, maybe not. The thing is that one day Surya decided to give them a try, and started recording some ideas at home. It was in 2007 when they considered to finally get into a studio with a couple of friends (Fran Montero - Bass / Josema Martin - Drums / David Gwynn - Guitar), the result being this 5 track cd titled -Crazy for you-. David Lads was born in Spain, he plays the piano since he was very young, and has been touring and recording for many years with different projects (David Gwynn, Vargas Blues Band, Red Experience) most of them Blues & Funky bands, playing Piano / Hammond with his special touch. Surya was born in Argentina, and spent the last ten years between England and Spain. She started as a dancer when she was a girl and began singing at the age of seventeen. |

In 1975 Jeff was produced by his parents in Warsaw Poland, but moved to Sweden in 1981 and lives since then in Malmoe Sweden. Jeff who was formerly called Mike Pung has been involved in electronic music since 1992 but it all began as a bedroom thing that has since then evolved into a habit. He started creating music in 1994 and got hooked on it directly, but it took until 1998 before his first single was to come out on his own label Maskros Music. Since that single he has released over 30 singles on labels like Poker flat, Episode, Treibstoff, Intristc design, Konvex konkav, Jamayka, Morris audio, regular etc. The first album by jeff bennett got released this summer on Episode. In 1994 he and a partner opened a record store called Cosmic One Records that became the first electronic record store in Malmoe. With the opening of the record store the DJ career got a boost and he started playing on various venues. A year after the store was opened Jeff & his record store partner Jim Groovy started making their own one-off parties and clubs in various sizes. His longest residency was in a house club called Thank God It's Friday were he played almost every Friday for over a year. He has played at clubs & parties like: Fabric (London), Otto zutz (The edge, Barcelona), Fusion festival 2002 (Germany), Ostgut (Berlin), Terrys cafe (Frankfurt), Polartv (Berlin) + many more..... In 1996 Jeff & Jim started their first label Azurite records. Jeff started his own label Maskros Music in 1998. And the year 2000 two new labels called Phunctional & Kung fu dub we're started by Jeff. At this point all those labels have gone into the history books. Influences: The earliest influences came from Detroit people like Derrick May, Juan Atkins & Kevin Saunderson, but also from Richie Hawtin's label Plus 8 and the artist there like Speedy J, Kenny Larkin etc. Europe also had a big impact on him with artists like Stefan Roberts, 808 state, KLF, dreadzone, Terry lee brown Junior, Tikiman & labels like Plastic city, Poker Flat, SVEK, Circulation, early Network releases + many more. Also a lot of reggae & dub artist like Augustus Pablo, Lee Perry, Mad Professor, Andy Horace, King Tubby, Barrington levy + many more. Future: After moving on from the recordstore jeff decided to move to Oslo/Norway for new inspirations. The first album was released mid last year and is still beeing played by many top DJs. A couple of 12" are also to be released this year on labels like: Audio beyond, Ibizaloopsound, konvex konkav, Worship, Choke, EQ/Stomp, Sensei. Apart from the dance music he is also into producing Lounge music and has recently finished recording an Lounge/Downbeat album for Just chillin records wich is a Swedish based label, that's due for release early 2004. And of course being a DJ as well brings a lot of inspiration & impressions to ones music from all the different places he visits creating new vibes and sounds. |
LORETTA HEYWOOD
![]() |
After returning from Japan in 1990 she met Tim Simenon. He had previously heard the tracks Loretta had recorded for Major Force - "Tribe of Love & Touch Me Take Me"and wanted her to work on the next Bomb The Bass album. In 1991 they wrote Winter in July, which subsequently became a classic dance record and a major hit all over Europe. This was one of the first songs she had written, someone then mentioned she should do an album.....
Following the success of B.T.B. Loretta worked with various talented writers and producers including Guy Sigsworth, Adamski and David Arnold to name just a few.
In 2000 after a break from music and London she returned with a whole new perspective, style of music and a new voice, turning to acoustic sounds and new beats. This involved writing and recording with members of Bugz in the Attic, Wai Wan and Victor Davies
Prior to making this album the songs she had chosen to record with all stood well on their own but what was lacking was a coherent thread joining them. The ingredients were all there but it took the "boy across the road", Andy Mitchell, to mix and bind them into the perfect chocolate musical cake.
Andy embellished the original songs with his own vision and production skills to create a romantic, acoustic sound with a contemporary twist which includes elements of jazz, folk and dance. All of this was done in Ladbroke Grove at her house or across the road at Andy's during a period stretching over a year .
Following this they then took the recordings to Will Worsley who provided additional production & mixing at Faraway Sounds, in West London using Pro Tools. This put the icing on the cake.
Friends and favors were called in to provide additional instrumentation. Dr. Sastry, an eminent Indian Scholar & Sanskrit lecturer taught her the language and intonation necessary to sing the vocals on Bhavanyastakam a sacred Sanskrit chant which is a devotional prayer to Mother Divine.
The Boy Across The Road is simply a collection of songs representing a fourteen year period of Lorettas life with all its personal ups and downs, spiritual growth and perseverance to finally complete the album and this particular -cycle-.
This home baked delight wouldn't have come about without the constant support from Family & Friends who have stuck by her through thick and thin and would never have happened, if not for a chance meeting with the boy across the road. |
